Testimonials

We greatly appreciate this review from a group of Family Campers!

"We were lucky enough to participate in the first family camp week at Camp Little Notch. For us, it was a perfect fit. My husband and I are both 68 years old. We have three granddaughters, ages 8, 7, and 5.

Because we live a five hour drive apart, when we bring the girls to our house, they usually stay for a week. As we are getting older, week long visits caring for three active children are becoming more difficult for us to manage. Camp Little Notch was great! We got to spend time with our grandchildren doing enjoyable outdoor activities together, but had the help of very kind, knowledgeable camp counselors. And all meals were cooked for us too! During our week at camp, activities included creek walks, hiking, arts & crafts, fishing, canoeing, campfire sing along, fire building, outdoor cooking, shelter building, leave no trace camping, and daily swimming in the beautiful lake. In addition to the activities for our family, there was a daily 2-hour kid only camp, which gave the adults some much appreciated rest time! The girls loved the kid camp activities and the time with other children.

One extremely hot afternoon, kid camp played water games at the waterfront. We were resting in our unit across the lake from them, but we could hear the kids laughing, shouting, and squealing.

Camp Little Notch is a very beautiful, peaceful place. There are enough amenities to be comfortable and safe, but not enough to take away from the camping experience. Best of all, there is NO cell phone reception. The lack of cell phones encouraged us all to relax, connect with nature, and engage in the present. However, if needed, cell phones do work a short drive off the camp premises.

We all had a most enjoyable week together at CLN. Looking out over the lake from our campfire, our eight year old granddaughter summed it all up when she said:

"I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life."

We hope to return to Camp Little Notch again. We would especially recommend it to grandparents as a fun place to connect with your grandchildren."

"My many years attending Camp Little Notch gave me the self confidence to dream big and never give up. I credit my success as a physician to core skills learned at camp."

"I used to attend Camp Little Notch almost every summer when I was younger, and I really grew as a person within my time there. Before my first time in 2012, I was extremely shy, I didn't have many friends, and the one I did have I needed to have in the same school class with me up until 4th grade. I had never spent time away from my home before. Camp brought me out of my shell and taught me about nature and art and making friends."

From Parents:

"Our daughter instantly fell in love with Camp Little Notch the first year she went to camp. As she became a teenager, it was increasingly her home away from home. She developed confidence, resourcefulness and an incredible work ethic. We had no idea, that first year that she attended, how important and valuable that decision was. It was (and still is almost 20 years later) wonderful to know what a positive influence Camp Little Notch has been for our daughter."

"This is my daughter's favorite place. We joke that camp is her "natural habitat." She is more herself at camp than anywhere else. No worries about how to dress, or act, being too much or too little. She has fun, tries things she wouldn't at home, and makes new friends, all while becoming more confident in who she is. I'm so grateful she has Camp Little Notch as a second home."
